PhilanthropyService and Philanthropy are cornerstones of our organization and are truly close to our heart. Alpha Phi’s at Lake Forest College hold and participate in many service activities to give back to our community, bettering ourselves and the place we call home. Our philanthropic efforts primarily focus on our Fraternity’s International cause, the Alpha Phi Foundation, which raises awareness and funds to research the number one kill of women in America—heart disease. Since 1946, Alpha Phi has donated more than $1 million to support cardiac health initiative.
We incorporate the Foundation’s mission into what we do here on campus. By creating fun events such as Mud Olympics, Alpha Phi aims to educate the campus on heart disease and provide fun ways for students to get involved with our philanthropy. We also hold Heart Healthy Feast annually with the intent of educating fellow students on cardiac care and the Alpha Phi Love Shack in February, a fun dating game to raise money for the Alpha Phi foundation. Alpha Phis also actively participate in community service projects in the Chicago area, join in community events such as Relay For Life, and contribute to and attend other organizations' service events. |
